Alesha Bloor, BSP

Alesha graduated from the University of Saskatchewan BSP program in 2009. Since then, she has worked as a community pharmacist and pharmacy manager in Estevan and Saskatoon. She has also worked as a hospital staff pharmacist with the Saskatchewan Health Authority. In 2022, Alesha joined RxFiles as an Academic Detailer and Continuing Professional Development for Pharmacy Professionals (CPDPP) as a Program Consultant.

Alex Crawley, BSP, ACPR

Alex Crawley is a pharmacist and the Associate Director of RxFiles Academic Detailing. He lives in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan with his wife and son.

Amy Soubolsky, BSP, MSc

Amy completed her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan in 2015. She then practiced as a hospital pharmacist at Battlefords Union Hospital and Saskatchewan Hospital in North Battleford, SK from 2015-2020. In addition to clinical practice in general medicine and a special interest in clinical quality improvement, she spent much of her time developing clinical services for mental health inpatients. To further strengthen her specialization in psychiatric pharmacy and hoping to expand clinical pharmacy services in mental health care, she completed a Master of Science in Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan in 2022. She now has a casual position with RxFiles as an information support pharmacist, while working full time for the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

Amy Wiebe, BSP, MBA, ACPR

Amy is a pharmacist who splits her time between RxFiles and the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Amy obtained her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSP) then followed this with completion of a hospital pharmacy residency and a Master of Business Administration. Over the years, Amy has practiced clinically in both primary and acute care settings, developing experience supporting people living with substance use disorders, as well as acute and chronic pain. With a passion for ensuring patient safety along with quality pharmacy care, Amy also serves on the Board of the province's licensing and regulatory body for pharmacy professionals.

Andrea Tang, BSP, ACPR, PharmD

Andrea Tang is an assistant professor with the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan. Her teaching and research interests are in pediatrics and infectious diseases. Previously, she was a hospital pharmacist and pediatric clinical pharmacy lead at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital. In her spare time, she likes to read, dance, and quilt.

Brent Jensen, BSP

Brent currently works with the RxFiles Academic Detailing Program (part of the Department of Pharmacy & Nutrition, University of Saskatchewan) in Saskatchewan as a drug information specialist. As an academic detailer, he saw hundreds of Saskatchewan family physicians two or three times per year, on topics chosen by family physicians. He has spent many hours updating & creating RxFiles drug comparison charts over the last 25 years. He is involved in reviewing and presenting clinical trial evidence as it relates to drug therapy decision making. The RxFiles Drug Comparison Charts have become a valued tool by physicians and pharmacists across Canada & beyond.   

Previously, as a hospital pharmacist for Saskatoon City Hospital for over 30 years, Brent had a keen interest in psychiatry, geriatrics, & rehab medicine.  

Brent has a lovely pharmacist wife who worked in long-term care and Home Care. He has 2 post-university aged kids. Cam just finished Engineering & Amber finished Physiotherapy both at the U of S. He and his family are heavily into sports (pickleball, swimming, badminton etc…) He loves his work & his vacations. Both Cam & Amber recently got married. Cam just had his first child, Ivy, and second child Oaklen, making Brent an official Grandpa.

Colette Regier

Colette provides administrative support to the RxFiles team, users and customers. She joined the team in 2000, as RxFiles was just starting to expand the academic detailing in Saskatchewan. As time went on, RxFiles charts, materials and resources took on a life of their own … and Colette was there to handle the growing logistical demands of both the team and our wonderful customers. Colette helps keep everyone on track, troubleshooting the many issues that come up. She reminds us all that although the work is important, the people RxFiles serves are even more important and worthy of our best efforts and goodwill.

Debbie Bunka, BSc Pharm

Debbie Bunka is a pharmacist and an academic detailer with RxFiles. After graduating in 2003 from the University of Manitoba, she started her career in hospital-based care. A few years later Debbie discovered her passion for supporting clinicians in optimal prescribing when she coordinated an academic detailing service in Calgary, AB. It was during these years that she became a close colleague of the RxFiles team and by 2010 she was a contracted collaborator. 
 
Debbie realized in 2013 that Saskatchewan is the place to be! She joined a special project team to provide educational outreach to LTC home staff and disseminate the Geri-RxFiles resource. In late 2018, Debbie transitioned to support prescribers with academic detailing visits in the Regina/Moose Jaw areas. 
 
She has maintained a part-time clinical practice across various care settings including: hospital, specialized clinic, community-based pharmacy, and most recently as part of a primary care team. Lastly, Debbie’s creative outlet is helping our team with the design of clinical tools, patient booklets, infographics ... and the list continues!

Derek Jorgenson, BSP, PharmD, FCSHP 

Derek Jorgenson is a Professor of Pharmacy in the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition. In addition to being the Director of RxFiles, he is also the Director of two patient care clinics that are located on the University campus - the USask Chronic Pain Clinic and the Medication Assessment Centre (or MAC). Dr. Jorgenson also maintains a pharmacy practice research program that focuses on the role of pharmacists in the primary health care system. He has a background as a community pharmacist and as a pharmacist in an interprofessional primary care team.

Devanshi Parekh, BSP, PharmD

Devanshi is a staff pharmacist currently working at St Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon. She graduated from the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan in 2017 and then completed her PharmD training at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto. Devanshi primarily practices in an internal medicine setting and her clinical interests include infectious disease and chronic disease management.

Emily Galey

Emily is currently a second-year pharmacy student at the University of Saskatchewan. She completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology and Pharmacology prior to entering the College of Pharmacy, making Saskatoon her home for the past 5 years. 

Emily grew up in a small town in the Southwest corner of Saskatchewan. Growing up in a small-town community, she learned the importance of community health and the impact health care providers play, especially in rural Sask. It is this impact that drove Emily to pursue a career in pharmacy in her hometown province. 

Throughout Emily's university career, she has volunteered with the Red Cross, specifically with the Friendly Phone Program, and at Prairie Harm Reduction as a Drop-in Support worker. She has also worked at two community pharmacies in Saskatoon prior to coming to RxFiles.  
Her interests include, reading, travel and spending as much time with her nephew as she can!

Eric Landry, BSP, ACPR, MEd

Eric received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 2011 from the University of Saskatchewan, and went on to complete a Hospital Pharmacy Residency with the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region in 2012. He worked as a hospital pharmacist at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon for a time, before moving into primary care as coordinator of the Medication Assessment Centre (MAC) at the U of S. He holds a Master's in Education Administration with a focus on teaching and learning in post-secondary education, and has enjoyed facilitating experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate pharmacy students. He is also a clinical pharmacist with the USask Chronic Pain Clinic. Eric has a special interest in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. Eric spends his free time strategizing with his wife on how best to outsmart 5 children.

Jackie Myers, BSP, AAHIVM

Jackie is a contract pharmacist and academic detailer with RxFiles, providing service to southeastern Saskatchewan. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Pharmacy & Nutrition in 2012 and has had a varied career in community, hospital, and primary/ambulatory care settings. Jackie currently works full time as an HIV Pharmacist with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and also specializes in addictions medicine. When she is not providing care to her patients or detailing to primary care clinicians, Jackie enjoys running, experiencing diverse culture through travel, and spending time outdoors with her two pups.

Jeff Herbert, BSP, ACPR

Jeff is the clinical coordinator of medicine and emergency pharmacy services at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon for the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Jeff graduated from the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan in 2014 and completed an Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency in 2016. He has previously worked as a community pharmacist, a medication information consultant with MedSask, and a staff pharmacist with the Saskatchewan Health Authority. He has been a contract pharmacist with RxFiles since 2018. Jeff is interested in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy, pharmacy competency assessment, and pharmacy preceptor development.

Jessica Visentin, BSc Pharm, PharmD

Jessica graduated from the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto in 2017. She went on to complete an ambulatory residency at Women’s College Hospital and has been working in a Toronto-based primary care team since that time. Jessica is involved in experiential teaching of pharmacy and medical learners within her practice. She recently joined the RxFiles team in 2022 as a writer for the depression topic. She has a special interest in collaborative care models, diabetes care and deprescribing initiatives.

Julia Bareham, BSP, MSc

Julia is a pharmacist with RxFiles Academic Detailing Service. She also works casually as a community pharmacist for a large retail chain. Julia joined the RxFiles team in 2009 and until 2015 she provided academic detailing services primarily related to medication optimization in the long-term care population. In late 2015, Julia joined the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan where she held the position of Pharmacist Manager for the Prescription Review Program. In early 2019, Julia returned to RxFiles where her professional interests include geriatrics and substance use disorders. Her work at RxFiles involves providing academic detailing services across the province of Saskatchewan, and the development of evidence-based drug therapy educational materials.  

Julia considers herself a lifelong student and enjoys pursuing education in various areas. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2004 from the University of Manitoba followed by her pharmacy undergraduate degree from the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) in 2008. In 2014, Julia completed her Master of Science degree in the division of Pharmacy at the U of S focusing on comprehensive medication management. Julia also has a Business Administration Certificate (2007) and a Certificate of Professional Communication (2022).

Katherine Neil, BSP, ACPR

Katherine graduated from the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan in 2011. She completed her hospital pharmacy residency in Regina, then worked in Regina hospitals for a few months before moving to Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. She has been a staff pharmacist in Lloydminster Hospital since 2013. Katherine joined the RxFiles team in 2021, and values her role as contract academic detailer with the program. Katherine is interested in small hospital practice, and enjoys conducting practice based research projects in all of her hospital settings.

Kassy Zenkewich, PharmD, ACPR

Kassy graduated from the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the U of S in 2022 and completed a hospital residency in 2023. She practices as a clinical pharmacist for inpatient oncology with special interests in stem cell transplant and cellular therapy. In addition, she works casually at RxFiles as an information support pharmacist. Outside of work, Kassy can be found in her garden or spoiling her animals.

Loren Regier, BA, BSP, ACPR

Loren is a pharmacist and consulting editor with RxFiles Academic Detailing. Loren graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Pharmacy and Nutrition in 1988. He worked as a hospital pharmacist and Saskatoon City Hospital after completing his residency there. Loren pioneered the RxFiles which began with a pilot project for Saskatoon physicians in 1997. He provided leadership for the expansion and development of the service through 2019. Loren takes special interest in assessing therapeutic evidence, bringing evidence to practice, and educational outreach. Loren continues to contribute to the development of RxFiles’ drug therapy resources, and academic detailing services.

Lynette Kosar, BSP, MSc

Lynette Kosar convocated from the College of Pharmacy with Distinction, and subsequently returned to the University of Saskatchewan to complete her Masters of Science in Pharmacy. Since 2011 she has worked in different capacities for the RxFiles, from full-time to her current role as a casual Information Support Pharmacist to create / maintain the heart failure chart and documents. She has also worked in a variety of hospital and ambulatory practices, and has been a Clinical Pharmacist for the Saskatoon Heart Function Clinic since 2014. Lynette also holds a Clinical Professor Designation with the College of Pharmacy to cover the heart failure lectures.

Marc Legge, BSP, ACPR

Marc graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2013 and went on to complete a residency program though the former Saskatoon Health Region. He has since been working as a hospital pharmacist with the Saskatchewan Health Authority and is the Clinical Coordinator of Critical Care at Royal University Hospital. Marc has a particular interest in HIV and infectious diseases. When not working as a pharmacist, Marc enjoys spending time with his family doing anything outside.

Margaret Jin, BSc Pharm, PharmD, MSc

Margaret completed the Bachelor of Science Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy programs from the University of Toronto in 1998 and 2007, respectively. She also completed the Health Research Methodology Masters of Science program at McMaster University in 2011. She has worked with RxFiles since 2006 as their first PharmD student and has helped with various editing and chart reviews. She started the academic detailing program with the Hamilton Family Health Team in 2007. She currently works in Ontario as a clinical pharmacist with the Health for All Family Health Team (HFA FHT) and partners with the Centre for Effective Practice to provide academic detailing to HFA FHT family physicians and nurse practitioners. She also has an academic appointment with the University of Toronto, Temerty Family of Medicine and teaches medical residents and PharmD students.

Marina Facci, BSc, BSP, MSc, MHA, PhD, CHE

Marina Facci joined the RxFiles as an academic detailer on a casual basis in 2018 while working in Northern Saskatchewan, as a Pharmacy Manager with the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). Marina moved back to Saskatoon in 2021 and currently works as the Director of Pharmaceutical Policy and Appropriateness with the Drug Plan and Extended Benefits Branch of the Ministry of Health.

Marlys LeBras, BSP, ACPR, PharmD

Marlys LeBras is an academic detailer and information support pharmacist with RxFiles Academic Detailing at the University of Saskatchewan. Marlys provides clinical pharmacy services to Sanctum (HIV Hospice and Care Home) and casual community pharmacy support. Marlys has an interest in infectious diseases, diabetes, evidence-based medicine and rational prescribing. Marlys obtained her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Degree (2013) at the University of Saskatchewan, Hospital Pharmacy Residency (2014) at the former Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region, and her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (2016) at the University of British Columbia.

Mia Clarion

Mia is currently a pharmacy student at the University of Saskatchewan and is RxFiles’ Summer Student. She completed 2 years of pharmacy pre-requisites before entering the College in 2022. Outside of RxFiles, Mia is involved in both the Pre-Pharmacy Club and the Saskatchewan Pharmacy & Nutrition Students’ Society, as well the St. Paul’s Healing Arts Program. When she is not doing school or work, Mia loves to spend time with family and friends, rock climb, and paint. Mia hopes to further her education in the pharmacy profession by studying healthcare policy or pharmaceutical advertising and ethics.

Nicole Seymour, BSc Pharm, PharmD

Nicole obtained her pharmacy degree from the University of Waterloo in 2013 and completed her hospital pharmacy residency at London Health Sciences Centre. Nicole works in Ontario as an inpatient pharmacist at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and as an Academic Detailer with the Centre for Effective Practice. She has been a casual employee with RxFiles since 2021 and thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to review the amazing drug charts.

Stephanie Zimmer, BSP, ACPR

Stephanie graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Saskatchewan in 2018. She then completed an Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Residency in SHA-Regina in 2018 - 2019. Since then she has been working as part of the Internal Medicine team in Regina on the Clinical Teaching Unit and Accountable Care Units. Her areas of interest include geriatrics, infectious diseases, and venous thromboembolism.

Tahirih McAleer, BSP

Tahirih graduated from the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan in 2015. Since 2015 Tahirih has been worked in community pharmacies in rural settings. She first joined the RxFiles as a contract academic detailer in 2018, and expanded to provide more detailer and information support for the RxFiles in 2022. Tahirih is interested in rural health and primary care practices.

Taisa Trischuk, BSP, PharmD

Taisa Trischuk is an academic detailer and information support pharmacist with RxFiles Academic Detailing at the University of Saskatchewan. She graduated from the College of Pharmacy (U of S) in 2011, as well as the Doctor of Pharmacy Program (U of A) in 2016. Before joining RxFiles in 2018, her pharmacy experience included community practice, medical oncology pharmacy at the Saskatoon Cancer Center and primary care at the Westside Community Clinic Pharmacy. Taisa enjoys the continual learning that her position at the RxFiles brings, while being able to make connections with other health care practitioners in the province.

Tanya Nystrom, BSP

Tanya graduated from the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan in 1996. After starting in community practice, she transitioned to hospital pharmacy practice in Yorkton and has continued to practice in this setting. She joined RxFiles in 2009 as an academic detailer for the former Sunrise Health Region. In her role, Tanya enjoys sharing information and the connections she makes with the providers in her region

Taylor Raiche, BSP, ACPR

Taylor received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with Great Distinction in 2018 and went on to complete an Ambulatory Pharmacy Practice Residency at Women's College Hospital in Toronto in 2019. She has since practiced in rural community pharmacy, urban acute care, and ambulatory care, including Family Medicine and interdisciplinary chronic pain care. In her clinical work, she is passionate about engaging patients in shared decision-making and collaborating interprofessionally to address polypharmacy and potential medication-related harm, making sure medications are necessary, effective, safe and convenient for those who use them. Taylor currently works in the Pharmacy Experiential Learning Office, supporting pharmacy students and preceptors. She is also working on a Masters of Science in Pharmacy in the area of patient education and mobile health technologies. Taylor contributes to RxFiles as a content reviewer.

Tracy Syrenne

Tracy joined RX Files in 2019 as our Research assistant after retiring from the provincial TB program as a Pharmacy Technician. Prior to joining the pharmacy team there she had been part of the Saskatoon City Hospital Pharmacy staff for 27 years.

Zack Dumont, BSP, ACPR, MSc

Zack is an RxFiles clinical pharmacist serving near the Regina area and locations along the Trans-Canada Highway east to the Manitoba border. He has been involved with the RxFiles since 2008, with experience in academic detailing, content development of RxFiles’ evidence-based drug therapy comparison tools, and as a training facilitator for academic detailing courses.

Zack graduated as a pharmacist in 2008. Following graduation, he completed a hospital pharmacy residency with the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region, where he currently serves as the clinical pharmacy manager for the Regina area of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Zack is certified in website design and development, has participated in multiple evidence-based medicine training programs, and formally studied pharmacy leadership with several institutions. Zack holds a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Saskatchewan (2008) and Master Degree in Pharmacy Leadership from the University of Cincinnati (2018).
