Dr. Rhynold is a Clinical Geriatrician and Assistant Professor at the Geriatric Evaluation and Management Program in the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan (U of S). Dr. Rhynold is originally from Saskatoon and completed her medical school and internal medicine residency at the U of S. Dr. Rhynold then undertook Geriatric Medicine Subspecialty training at University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
Dr. Rhynold spent seven years as a clinical geriatrician in Saint John, NB, and then spent an additional seven years as a rural clinical geriatrician living in Virden, MB. She then returned to Saskatoon in 2023 and is currently working primarily in outpatient and community clinical geriatric medicine supporting referrals made to the Geriatric Evaluation and Management program in Saskatoon.
Dr. Rhynold has extensive experience working with people living with dementia contributing to their frailty. She is also a newer member of the Canadian Medication Appropriateness and Deprescribing Network Health Care Provider Committee.
Dr. Rhynold's interests lie in the areas of deprescribing and medication optimization related to safe sleep promotion and adapting treatment to progressing frailty.
Dr. Rhynold strongly believes that providing excellent care to people living with frailty is a team sport and that it is very difficult, if not impossible, when attempted as a solo provider.
